Eileen got me a wooden mallard from an antique store in NC.
My grandpa had a pet duck named George before WWII. (I’m not named after the duck I’m named after my other grandpa). When my grandpa went for swims at the local pond George would come along, hop out of the car, follow him into the water and back. After I learned that story ducks have always been a favorite animal of mine.
